Matka silk, handwoven by master weavers in Bengal, is crafted from hand-spun raw silk derived from the waste of mulberry silk cocoons. The spun nature of its threads results in a slightly thicker texture compared to conventional silk, yet it remains exceptionally soft, offering a feel that lies between cotton and cashmere. The finished fabric is then hand block printed with natural dyes by award winning artisan Sufiyan Khatri and his team in Ajrakhpur, Gujarat.
